The Biggest Loser: Couples Episode 4

I know, I know. Where’s the third episode? I was on vacation and while vacationing I don’t watch The Biggest Loser until I get home and see it a week too late. I could tell you what happened though, people lost weight while confronting serious emotional issues and getting yelled at by trainers. Who went home?

Maria did. She swims now, you guys! Cool. On to this week.

Everyone is beating on Michael for being lazy. But he thinks he is trying. So now he has to make them all believers this week.

They come in to their pop challenge, and learn that they will be getting immunity from winning this challenge. But then Allison quotes Spiderman and we learn that the winner also gets three envelopes with something inside of them that can affect the outcome of the game. Its a mystery until someone wins them. Oh boy, this show never throws curveballs so you know what’s in there must be good! /sarcasm

They basically have to run back and forth to a board to try out key cards. Three that work mean immunity. Stupid Red team won immunity. Melissa totally doesn’t deserve it. The three envelopes are all disadvantages that could break someone’s week and send someone below the yellow line. If it was anyone else, it would be less strategic. They give the ‘no gym access’ to John, since he works out in the pool mostly. The ‘no elimination vote’ (which isn’t bad, I think) goes to Michael. The ‘2lb disadvantage’ went toe Green team and they are Latina pissed! Fiery!

Because of the drama that happened last week on the scales with the Red team, Bob clears the air with them but things aren’t so easy with Jillian. Lance tells her he won’t work with her anymore. Melissa swears up and down that she isn’t doing it on purpose and Jillian refuses to believe it. So do I, and probably the rest of the viewing public.

This week’s challenge! Use a rope to lift yourself in a cage 120 feet in the air. WTF. The reward is phone calls from home. The winner gets to give out three other phone calls to home too. Of course Red is in the running for it, but Gray pulls it out and wins. I hate that they gave the Red team the ability to call home, but what can you do. Green and Brown get the other ones.

They call home, tears, I love you’s, all that stuff. Weirdest part of this? When they caption who is on the phone. Miggy’s fiance “Gary”. Why is his name in quotes? Bizarre.

After the obligatory Subway plug, they go on their last chance workout. It’s a mountain. They climb it and run up and then back down and are met with Jillian. She beats them up some more.

I can guess that this weigh-in will be filled with drama or at the very least, awkward. Of course, Melissa lost a bunch of weight because she had to. Michael is only 30 pounds away from 100. INSANE. Even without the two pound disadvantage, Green team fell below the yellow line. Migdalia wants to go home and you can’t blame her. Her husband is being shipped out to Afghanistan and if she goes home, she sees him. She gets sent home, of course.

She lost like, 50 pounds in all? I wasn’t really paying attention because she’s hella boring in that interview. But, there’s always next week! I bet Miggy is going to be pissed that those people voted for her…
