The Biggest Loser: Couples Episode 8

It is work week at the Biggest Loser Ranch. I don’t know what that means because there was none of this last season. Or from what I remember of the season before. So, enlighten us, Allison.

Before we get to that, we see the Blue team coming back from elimination. They stagger the people so O’Neal has to wait til the very end to see if Sunshine came back. Of course, she did because we knew that. O’Neal gives a motivational speech and they vow to never lose to the Black team again!

At their first challenge, they learn about the ins and outs of Work Week. They go to work everyday, for eight hours and the gym isn’t open 24 hours a day. They must work out a schedule and regiment while working for Feed America. Here they are introduced to their challenge.

They have to pull a semi down a runway to collect puzzle pieces. At the end they put together their puzzle, first to do so wins the prize. They will receive free groceries for one year.

Blue keeps a lead the entire time even though O’Neal is severely lagging. At the puzzle, Black does catch up but Blue still takes it in the end. Sam is bummed but whatever, win all the challenges you want, its the scales that matter.

In the gym they have to get in really good strong workouts to compensate for the fact that they don’t have the gift of time this week. Black and Blue both have fire in their eyes, no one wants to be in that elimination room. Sam rallies his forces and they agree to give this week all they got and more.

The next day they get up, work out and go to work. They all are assigned to miscellaneous tasks within the food bank. They get to meet one of the employees that needed the inspiration and get to hear his story. More motivation and parallels between lives and stories.

They get home from work at 6pm and the gym closes at 7:30. So even though their asses are tuckered out, they had to make it all count and worked out until the last second. And they do this for the whole week. Mike says it feels like jail. That’s reality Mike!

Cheryl and Sherry have become real close and are both scared that if one of them is in the bottom, they will be going home. Foreshadowing?

They only get two hours for their last chance workout and Jillian and Bob beat them up for two hours.

On a side note: do you think the producers or whoever tell the contestants to let themselves go? Not weight wise obviously but letting their beards grow out, their hair get all long and straggly. They are all looking a mess lately. Makes their makeovers more transformative but daaaamn.

They also highlight Sunshine and O’Neal’s relationship so maybe this is foreshadowing? Good thing the weigh-in is right now!

O’Neal has had immunity for the last three weeks so he’s hoping for a nice number. He doesn’t really get what he needs but we shall see. Everyone else on Blue basically blows him away, leaving him at the bottom of the pack. It’s all up to Black’s numbers to save O’Neal from going home. The only to really muck it up for Black is Stephanie. She only loses three pounds and Daris is ecstatic. Sam only loses four pounds, BUT, but he’s packing on muscles so his numbers are not going to be good. He’s essentially going to be bringing down the Black team’s numbers.

Turns out I was right, Cheryl goes home. She continued losing weight at home and decided to clean out her closet, get rid of all those clothes that are now too too big.

Next week, something happens with Mike that he maybe has to leave and Black continues to be losers? We’ll see…
